Laetans Photography travel abroad section is currently featuring photographs from Berlin, Germany and Tallinn, Estonia.  Each link will open a new window with images.

Tallinn, Estonia

Old Town -- a labyrinthine part of the city dating back to the Middle Ages... cobblestone streets lined with houses, churches, galleries and cafes.

Convent of St. Brigitta -- these ruins are all that remains from the early-15th-century Gothic church.  The church was destroyed by Ivan the Terrible in 1577.  In 1996, the Brigittine nuns returned and built a convent next door to the ruins.

Street Scenes -- images from the winding streets and large boulevards of Tallinn.

Details -- the details of Tallinn intrigue me....
Berlin, Germany

Berliner Dom -- views of the Berlin Cathedral dating from 1905 and restored in 1993.

Gendarmenmarkt -- this beautiful square contains the twin structures of Franzosischer Dom and Deutscher Dom and a Konzerthaus.  The Gendarmenmarkt was created in 1700 and settled by Huguenots.

Government buildings -- the new government buildings are contemporary and architecturally unique.

Pergmon -- one of Berlin's museums full of classical Greek, Babylonian, Roman, Islamic and Middle Eastern art and architecture excavated by German archaeologists at the turn of the 20th century.

Unter Den Linden -- photographs from this famous street.

Street scenes -- a glimpse of the streets of Berlin.

Potsdamer Platz -- Berlin's showcase of urban renewal.

Along the Spree -- photographs from a boat tour on the Spree River.
